Selma Blair Feels More Than Blessed to Be on ‘DWTS’

Legally blonde actress Selma Blair has been struggling with a chronic illness for a long time. She was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) in 2018 and has really struggled ever since.

But despite all the pain and heartbreak, Selma Blair is determined to give Dancing with the stars all there is. This year she will be competing with professional dancer Sasha Farber.

At the end of the day, Selma Blair is incredibly grateful for the chance to compete at all. See what she said.

Selma Blair wants to keep fighting and find pockets of joy in her life

According to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, “Multiple Sclerosis is a disease that affects the brain, spinal cord, and optic nerves, which make up the central nervous system and control everything we do.” In other words, it affects every part of Selma Blair’s life now. Her new normal life looks a little different from her old everyday life, but she is determined not to let her illness define her.

Dancing with the stars fans had a chance to meet the cast of Season 31 this week Good morning America. The 50-year-old actress said how happy she is to have this opportunity. There were times when she wasn’t sure if she would still be here after four years.

While it’s on GMASelma said she now “grabs every joy we have in life.”

“The truth is, when I try new things, I get a lot of spasticity, dystonia, and I’m fine,” she said.

“Walking is much more difficult for me than when I can get into the groove of establishing dance and fluidity,” Cruel intentions said the actress Entertainment tonight in another interview. “It’s an amazing lesson to use my emotions and my body together to unite a little more with the support of Sasha and the music.”

This is definitely one DWTS fans of the partnership should watch

It already looks like Sasha and Selma are a match made in heaven. The actress shared on Instagram that the dancer entered her home and offered to make dinner for her and her son Artur. Dancing with the stars partnerships are often special, but it looks like Selma and Sasha will have a very unique, genuine connection this year. And that’s something the actress really needs if she wants to do well in this new challenge.

“For me personally, this is not a dance competition,” Sasha said during the interview with ET. “I want Selma to improve and grow.”

Sasha just lost his grandfather to dementia this week and is going through a bit of a rough patch himself. Let’s hope he and Selma can count on each other and be a strong support system for each other.
