Rain in Odisha: New cyclonic circulation likely

Bhubaneswar: More rain is expected in Odisha as another cyclonic circulation is likely to form in mid-October, the latest weather bulletin said today.

Light to moderate rain and thundershower occurred at most places over coastal Odisha.

It is to be noted that at many places over North Interior Odisha districts and at few places over South Interior Odisha districts with heavy rainfall at one or two places over Cuttack, Nayagarh and Khurda districts of Odisha.

A cyclonic circulation over south coastal Andhra Pradesh and vicinity is now located over Telangana and adjoining Vidarbha between 1.5 and 3.1 km above mean sea level.

The trough from southern coastal Andhra Pradesh to central parts of northern Uttar Pradesh is now flowing
from coastal Andhra Pradesh to Uttarakhand through a cyclonic circulation over Telangana and adjoining Vidarbha, West Madhya Pradesh and West Uttar Pradesh at 1.5 km above mean sea level.

Cyclonic circulation over central parts of southern Bay of Bengal continues and is now seen between
3.1 km and 5.8 km above mean sea level.

It may be noted that a yellow alert has been issued for several districts in Odisha for the next five days.

Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput and Malkangiri.

Forecast for Bhubaneswar and probable hood valid for next 24 hours:

Generally Cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain or thunder. The maximum and minimum temperatures are very likely to be around 31 degrees Celsius and 23 degrees Celsius respectively.
