Rain in Odisha likely due to low pressure around October 20
Bhubaneswar: Rain is likely in Odisha due to low pressure area over Bay of Bengal around 20 October 2022.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) further said that the west-northwest moving system will further intensify into a low pressure area by October 20 over southeast and adjoining central parts of Bay of Bengal (BoB).
A tweet on the official Twitter account of India Meteorological Department said that the conditions are very likely to become favorable for further withdrawal of Southwest Monsoon over rest of Central India, some more parts of Maharashtra, East India and some parts of Northeast India during the next three days.
It may be noted that Odisha has been alerted for heavy rain by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) regional center here. At least eight districts in Odisha are likely to experience heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning today.
According to the MeT, heavy rainfall is likely to lash one or two places in several districts of Odisha during the next 24 hours. The MeT has issued a yellow alert for the eight districts of Odisha.
Cuttack, Khordha, Ganjam, Gajapati, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara and Nayagarh districts have been asked to remain alert and be prepared for heavy rains.
