Pelosi: Family ‘heartbroken and traumatized’ by husband assault

Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Saturday night that she and her family were “heartbroken and traumatized” in her first comments since her husband, Paul, was attacked in their San Francisco home.

“We are grateful for the quick response of law enforcement and emergency services and the life-saving medical care he received,” the spokesman said in a “Dear Colleague” letter.

The alleged attacker, David Depapp, faces charges including murder and elder abuse after he broke into the Pelosis home and attacked Paul with a hammer early Friday.
