Bhubaneswar: 33 important proposals were approved by the Odisha Cabinet on Thursday. The Odisha Cabinet was held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. Briefing on the development, Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mahapatra said the major decisions include approval of financial bids for construction of 40 lift irrigation schemes with intake points on various rivers in Keonjhar, Kalahandi, Bolangir, Bargarh, Gajpati, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Angul and Cuttack districts. .
According to reports, two more dams will be erected on the Baitarani River. 200 crore rupees will be spent on this project. It was approved today in the cabinet.
Similarly, water supply will be provided in the left command area of lower Suktel in Balangir district of Odisha. 634 crore rupees will be spent on this. 13 thousand hectares of land in Balangir district will be irrigated. Cabinet has approved as many as 9 Mega Lift Irrigation Projects on Bramhani and Mahanadi Rivers. An amount of Rs 431 crore will be spent on this.
Also, as many as 14 projects of Keonjhar district were approved in today’s Odisha Cabinet meeting. About Rs 511 crore will be spent on this. Similarly, mega lift project of irrigation proposals Parvati giri Bruhat Lift is also passing cabinet approval. An amount of Rs 430 cores will be spent on expenditure on these projects.
Similarly, the staff of Odisha Excise Service will be restructured along with the creation of new excise stations, ranges, satellite EI & EB units.
