Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police team is in Bihar to investigate the Odisha fake medicine case. Health Minister Nikunja Dal has written to his counterpart in Bihar to cooperate.
According to reports, the fake drugs Telma 40 and Telma M that were seized in Odisha were supplied from the factory of a company located in Gaya of Bihar. Although the matter has already been brought to the notice of the Narcotics Controller of Bihar, no response has been received so far on this matter.
It is to be noted that the Odisha government has formed a team to look into the case of the fake medicine issue. This team includes an assistant drug inspector and two police officers. The Odisha Health Department has written to the Bihar Health Department to cooperate with the Odisha investigation team in this regard.
It is to be noted that a few days ago, the drug control team conducted raids at several places in Cuttack and busted the distribution of fake drugs.
According to the preliminary investigation, the fake drugs were being supplied to Cuttack from Gaya in Bihar and Bengaluru.
To further investigate the case, two teams of the Narcotics Control have been formed to visit the places from where the fake drugs were supplied, sources said.
