Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance on Thursday arrested the ACSO of Khurdha on charges of demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000 from an authorized representative of a rice miller for aiding the business and operations of a rice miller.
The accused ACSO has been identified as Bishnu Charan Parida.
According to reports, ACSO was today detained by Odisha Vigilance while demanding and accepting an undue advantage of Rs.50, 000/- from a complainant, an authorized representative of a rice mill, to facilitate the business and operation of a rice mill.
The entire bribe amount of Rs. 50,000/- was recovered by Parida and seized. After the trap, a search was conducted at the house in Parida Government Housing at 2RB/3, Road-V unit-Bhoinagar in Bhubaneswar from DA corner.
In this regard Vigilance Cell PS Case No. 7 dt. 29.9.2022 under section 7 of the PC Amendment Act, 2018 was registered. An investigation is being conducted against Parida in the case.
