Obscene push notification swiftly hits company’s Apple News Feed in potential hack

In what appears to be a hack, Apple News users received a push notification on Tuesday containing obscene and racist language from the account of the independent trade magazine Fast Company.

Fast Company did not immediately respond to a request for comment and has not yet said anything about the incident on its social platforms. According to the score, Twitter users caught the post, many tagged it @fastcompany Account descriptor.

In a screenshot of the push alert obtained directly from TheWrap, the message can be seen with a racial slur and a vulgar sexual reference, followed by “THRAX WAS HERE”. It looks like the exact message was sent twice in one minute:

Fast Company was launched in 1995 and is still released twice a month. It is owned by Chicago billionaire and Morningstar founder Joseph Mansuito through his Mansuito Ventures.
