Notification issued for Padampur MLA Vacancy

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Assembly Speaker Bikram Keshari Aruha has written to the State Election Officer and the Election Commission of India regarding the vacancy of Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) on Padampur in Odisha today.

It is to be noted that after the unfortunate death of senior BJD MLA Bijay Ranjan Singh Bariha on October 3, the Padampur MLA seat remains vacant.

After Bariha’s death, Odisha Assembly Speaker Arukha informed the Election Commission of India on behalf of the Odisha Assembly about the MLA vacancy.

It should be noted here that on October 3, Padampur MLA Bijaya Ranjan Singh Bariha of Bargarh district passed away at the age of 64 years.

Senior BJD leader Bariha breathed his last while undergoing treatment at a private hospital. Bijaya Ranjan Bariha has been elected five times as MLA from Padampur.
