Nissan’s camouflaged SUV spotted in India could be the new X-Trail

Nissan The X-Trail is one of the popular SUV cars offered by the Japanese car company worldwide. The SUV is expected to be relaunched in India soon. Recently, a heavily camouflaged Nissan SUV was spotted in India and it is noticed that this could be the new generation X-Trail. For those who don’t know, the Nissan X-trail was discontinued in India back in 2014 due to low sales.

With Nissan India expected to make an announcement on October 18, we guess the automaker might have something to say about the X-trail. The grille design, logo cutout and headlamps of the camouflage SUV from Nissan seen in India looked similar to the X-trail offered in the global markets. The fourth generation of the SUV was launched this year (2022) and gets a 5-seater/7-seater option.

As for the SUV engine, the X-Trail is available in both hybrid and non-hybrid variants. The X-Trail gets a 1.5 liter turbo petrol engine and a 1.5 liter turbo petrol engine with an electric motor (hybrid). The non-hybrid variant is a front-wheel drive variant, while the hybrid model gets the option of an all-wheel drive (AWD) configuration. The X-Trail’s AWD configuration is called the 4ORCE all-wheel drive system. Specially adapted to electrified drive, with a second electric motor on the rear axle.

The SUV also gets a ProPILOT Assist function that allows the car to accelerate to a certain speed and then slow it down to 0 km/h in heavy traffic. Key interior features of the SUV include a 10.8-inch heads-up display, 12.3-inch instrument cluster and infotainment touchscreen system and 360-degree camera, adaptive LED lights, Bose stereo system, panoramic sunroof and much more.

If Nissan launches the X-Trail in India, we are not sure if it will be the hybrid version, the non-hybrid version or both. Considering the presence of Nissan cars on Indian roads (which is relatively less), the X-Trail could be a game changer in the country.
