The song appears to be intended as a tribute to the Trinidadian rapper for “paving the way for her polished pop-rap career.”
Minaj was asked to feature on the song, but she declined the offer, citing the fact that “there were middlemen involved” as the reason, explaining that it would be difficult for them to collaborate together on the song.
