Some of the major Indian projects were announced by Disney + Hotstar during the ongoing D23 Expo in the United States on Friday. These include the adaptation of a new series of the Mahabharata epic. Mahabharat will be produced by Madhu Mantena, Mythoverse Studios and Allu Entertainment. The Indian mythological epic Mahabharata is about the struggle between good and evil as the Kauravas and Pandavas wage war on Kurukshetra in ancient India.
This was announced by Gaurav Banerjee, Head-Content, Disney + Hotstar and HSM Entertainment Network, Disney Star at the show. He told the international content and the pilot session: “There are over a billion people who know the story in one form or another. Most of them in my country heard from their grandparents when they were children, billions more. There are survivors. Unaware of what they lack.
