After nearly three decades of lean, good times are ahead for the Swedish army. The head of the navy, Ewa Skoog Haslum, is expecting two new ships, “very good vehicles” with modern technology. However, the 54-year-old will have to wait until 2028 for defense company Saab to deliver the submarines – a decade late and twice as long as planned.
