Miscreants loot Rs 5 lakh from a teacher in Odisha’s Balangir

Balangir: Some unidentified bike-riding miscreants reportedly made away with Rs. 5 lakh by a father and son just after withdrawing the amount from Titilagarh State Bank here Odisha today.

The victim has been identified as Ashok Behera, a Swadhin pada teacher in Titilagarh.

According to reports, Ashok and his son withdrew Rs. 5 lakh from State Bank.

After the two exited the bank with the money, soon some criminals carrying a bicycle approached Ashoka and started looting the money from Ashok’s possession.

Before anyone could come to Ashok’s aid, the miscreants fled the scene, grabbing money from Ashok’s possession.

Ashok soon filed a complaint with the local police station about the loot.

The police have launched an investigation into the case on Ashok’s complaint to nab the unidentified criminals.

Notably, in a similar incident in Puri on September 3, two unidentified criminals stole Rs 10 lakh at gunpoint from a man in Brahmagiri town of the district. According to reports, the unidentified victim was returning from the Brahmagiri branch of the State Bank of India after withdrawing Rs 10,00,000 which he was carrying in a bag
