Comedian and actor Miriam Margolyes shocked BBC Radio 4 listeners this morning by telling the presenters what she “really wanted to say” to new chancellor Jeremy Hunt.
Hunt was interviewed by journalist Justin Webb about his plans for the government’s new economic strategy on the Today Programme, in the pre-Margolyes slot.
The comedian was on the show to talk about the death of Harry Potter actor Robbie Coltrane.

“When I saw him there, I just said ‘you’ve got a great job, very lucky’, and what I really wanted to say was ‘damn, cu*ba! “‘
Webb tried to cut the comedian off when he realized where the conversation was going, saying, “Oh, no, no, you can’t say that.
“We’re going to have to get you out of the studio now.”

“Well, we apologize if you heard a word you shouldn’t have heard earlier. The rest of the interview with Miriam Margolis was great, but…”
