Melanie Brown, aka Mel B, has confirmed her engagement to her boyfriend of three years, Rory McPhee.

The Spice Girls icon was recently the subject of engagement rumors after an insider said she cried “tears of joy” when her hairdresser boyfriend got down on one knee.

It was reported that he popped the question with a £100k diamond ring and Mel said yes without hesitation.

The pop star has remained tight-lipped about the engagement rumours, but appeared to confirm that she is indeed ready to walk down the aisle when she appeared on Gogglebox on Friday.

Seated on the sofa next to girlfriend Ruby Wax in the Stand Up To Cancer special, Mel lifted the lid on the ‘romantic’ hotel proposal.

“You told me you were recently engaged,” Ruby began, to which Mel confirmed, “Yes.”

“So what did he actually say?” Ruby asked.

“I love you, you’re my best friend, I want to spend the rest of my life with you,” Mel shared of the intimate moment.

“There were rose petals everywhere, a bonfire, a hotel – which was Cliven. It was very romantic. I love flowers,” she added to Ruby.

Ruby admitted that flowers aren’t her “thing” and she’s not into romance, but Mel is clearly into her.

“I love flowers,” she admitted.

Mel and Rory started dating in 2018, but are believed to have known each other for a while before becoming romantically involved, as Rory is a friend of Mel’s cousin.

The 47-year-old woman is the mother of three daughters – Phoenix Chi Gulzar, 23, Angel Iris Murphy Brown, 15, and Madison Belafonte, 11, from former relationships with Dutch dancer Jimmy Gulzar, second husband Stephen Belafonte and actor Eddie Murphy.

Mel met Jimmy in 1998 when he was hired as a dancer for the Spice Girls world tour and they got engaged in May of that year.

She became pregnant a month later and they married in September before divorcing in 2000.

Mel then ended her marriage to Steven, 46, in 2017 after that claiming he abused her emotionally and physically during their 10-year union.

In 2018, she became a patron of the charity Help for Womenafter allegedly being the victim of domestic violence at the hands of her ex-partner – claims Stephen denies.

As for her current husband-to-be, sources have hailed him as “lovely” and “down to earth,” and Mel’s friends and family say they’re “over the moon” with her engagement.
