Netflix in the United States will soon be the streaming home of Gerard Butler’s newly released action film, Last seen alive. The film makes its SVOD debut on Netflix exclusively on October 1, 2022.
Directed by Brian Goodman, Gerard Butler stars as Will Spahn in the film, which saw a limited theatrical release earlier in 2022.
According to Voltage Pictures, here’s what you can expect from the film when it hits Netflix US on October 1st:
“Will Spahn is driving his soon-to-be ex-wife Lisa to her parents’ home when she mysteriously disappears during a gas station stop. A distraught Will engages the local sheriff in an increasingly desperate attempt to find her. As the clock ticks down, suspicion falls on Will, who must take matters into his own hands, plunging into the city’s criminal underbelly while on the run from the authorities in a race against time to save his wife.”
Apart from Butler, the film also stars Jamie Alexander (Thor), Russell Hornsby (The hate you give), Ethan Embry (Sweet home, Alabama), Michael Irby (Mayans MC) and Bruce Altman (Running Sacred).
Only a handful of reviews make up its pretty awful 13% rating on RottenTomatoes at the time of writing. The Radio Times concluded that it was a fairly “generic thriller”.
On IMDb, the film is 5.6/10.
Netflix is home to several Voltage Pictures films and is expected to get more in the future. The next notable film to come from the US distributor will be happily ever after which will arrive after its theatrical release.
Other releases in the past include Ava starring Jessica Chastain, American Boogeywoman, The Professor and the Madmanand Extremely evil, shockingly evil and vile.
The film will be released on October 1st alongside a host of other licensed titles including Call me by your name, Rush hour, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, and Land of the Lost.
