Kylie Jenner dresses up as the Bride of Frankenstein for Halloween
When it comes to Halloween, Kylie Jenner doesn’t mess around. The beauty, who is 25, showed off her latest Halloween costume on Instagram on Friday. She appeared as the Bride of Frankenstein from the 1935 film of the same name.
She has previously appeared as Ariel from The Little Mermaid, Power Ranger, Playboy Bunny and Christina Aguilera. Her latest outfit, a custom Jean Paul Gaultier bandage dress, is getting a lot of attention.
A dress and fabric wrapped around her body like a mummy, plus a billowing white dress with opera gloves, a prop knife, black hair with white thread and a stitched scar to tie it all together. Jenner shared three photos of herself in the costume. In each of them, she poses in a way that matches the costume.
Jenner screamed in a hand-over-her-mouth pose. In another she was naked and holding a knife. In yet another, she was strapped to a creepy examining table like the ones in the old Universal Frankenstein movies.
Jenner’s outfit and poses were a classic yet modern take on the iconic scary character, and a number of celebrities loved it.
Some celebrities who loved Jenner’s look were Khloe Kardashian, Rosalla, and Lauren Perez. Jenner’s assistant Maguire Amundsen wrote: “How can such a scary character be so hot?”
Jenner tagged her hairstylist Tokyo Stylez and her makeup artist Ariel Tejada on her Instagram story and shared more behind-the-scenes photos of how the looks came together this year.
Jenner also posted photos of her outfit next to photos of actress Elsa Lanchester in the 1935 film, and they look very similar. The 1931 Frankenstein sequel, which is on the US National Film Registry, has the role Lanchester is best known for, and Jenner may have gotten more people interested in trying out the iconic look.
For those unaware of Jenner’s most memorable Halloween costumes over the years, she’s known for going above and beyond trendy scares. In 2014, she dressed as another bride when she stepped out with then-boyfriend Tyga as Tiffany Valentine, Bride of Chucky.
In 2016, she and her sister Kendall dressed up in costumes from their childhood, set in 2020. Last year, she went as a green-faced witch. She said she was in “mom mode” for this year’s celebrations. She and her boyfriend Travis Scott took their daughter Stormi on a family outing. She wore a black jumpsuit, fur coat, combat boots, black cat ears, and cat face paint.
It’s also a family thing. Travis Barker and Kourtney Kardashian came out as punk legends Sid Vicious and Nancy Spungeon. Kim and her best friend Jonathan Cheban became the stars of Tiger King in 2020 and Kim’s children became tigers.
Kendall entered as Pamela Anderson’s character from the movie Barb Wire in 2020. Kim’s family went as The Flintstones in 2019 (Kanye West reportedly dressed up in an inflatable dinosaur suit). Also, Kourtney flew solo in 2019 dressed as Ariana Grande. She wore a high ponytail and a pink baby doll dress.
