On Tuesday, Khloe Kardashian said she had a tumor removed from her face. She did this after explaining why she had been wearing a bandage on her cheek for several weeks.
“After noticing a small bump on my face and assuming it was something as minor as a zit, I decided to have it biopsied 7 months after realizing it wasn’t moving,” she wrote on her Instagram story. She said two doctors biopsied the problem because it was “extremely rare” for a 38-year-old.
“A few days later, I was told that I had to have surgery immediately to remove a tumor from my face,” she wrote in her story. “I called none other than Dr. Garth Fischer (sic), a dear friend of my families and one of the best surgeons in Beverly Hills, who I knew would take amazing care of my face.”
She said Dr. Fisher “got it all” and that he was now “on the mend.” “So here we go… you’ll continue to see my bandages and when I’m allowed you’ll probably see a scar (and a dimple in my cheek from the tumor removal) but until then I hope you enjoy how AWESOME I make these face bandages they look.”
She said she was only telling the story “to remind everyone to get checked, and often,” and said she had melanoma removed from her back when she was 19.
The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star said she always wears sunscreen “so no one is an exception.” “Please take this seriously and do regular self-exams as well as annual check-ups,” she added.
She expressed her gratitude to the medical staff, telling Fisher she understood he didn’t want to operate on her face, “but you did it to protect me.”
“I trust you with everything, and I’m so grateful that we got along so early. I was lucky and all I have is a scar to tell a story with. Most people are not as lucky as I am, and I am eternally grateful and grateful.”
“Everyone you meet is fighting a battle we know nothing about. Try not to judge and be kind because you have no idea what they are going through,” she quoted.
