India reports 2,430 new Covid-19 infections, 17 deaths

New Delhi: India on Saturday reported 2,430 new cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, according to the Union Health Ministry.

With the new Covid-19 cases, the cumulative tally has risen to 4,46,26,427, the Union health ministry said.

With 17 deaths, the death toll due to the infectious disease rose to 5,28,874, which included 9 deaths tallied from Kerala.

The number of active cases in the country currently stands at 26,618, which represents 0.06 percent of the total number of positive cases in the country.

According to the Ministry of Health, the daily positivity rate was recorded at 1.01% and the weekly positivity rate was 1.07%.

The number of people who have recovered from the disease has risen to 4,40,70,935 with 2,378 new recoveries.
