Hotel Transylvania is one of the most popular cartoons of recent times. The hilarious comedy film begins with the life of the age-old Dracula, running his famous Hotel Transylvania, which undergoes a major change after human intervention.
You will meet many monsters and don’t worry, they are not here to scare you but to make you laugh. The franchise has already spawned over four films and Hotel Transylvania is popular worldwide. Over the years, the “Hotel Transylvania” family has grown.
However, the original cast of Hotel Transylvania voice actors remained in all the films. So who are the famous faces behind the voice actors of Hotel Transylvania and how did they make this franchise such a success? Keep reading to find it all.
Adam Sandler and Brian Hull as Count Dracula
In the first three parts of the film, Adam played the role of Count Dracula. His voice added authenticity to the character. Adam is a famous Hollywood actor who has done many movies like ‘Just Go With It’, ‘Grown Ups’ etc. Before becoming a mainstream actor, he was a comedian on Saturday Night Live.
When the Hotel Transylvania voice actors introduced Adam, everyone knew the movie was going to be epic. And so it happened. Adam was Count Dracula, which is “conflicted patriarch and longtime hotel owner”. It was hard for him to see his little girl grow up and explore the world. Over time, he realized it was time to let her go and nurture her true self.
However, for Hotel Transylvania: Transformation, YouTuber and impressionist Brian Hull replaced Adam.
Andy Samberg as Jonathan “Johnny” Laughrane
The only person to reveal the true nature of the people of Hotel Transylvania, Johnny is the ostracized man belonging to the Dracula family. Andy Samberg joins the voice cast of “Hotel Transylvania” after his popularity with SNL and “Brooklyn Nine-Nine.”
He even did the voice acting in the cartoon Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs. At Hotel Transylvania, he successfully manages to break the old law and orders set by Count Dracula. What’s more, he ends up becoming Dracula’s son-in-law after marrying Marvis. Johnny is a goofy and loving human being who loves his Dracula family very much.
Selena Gomez as Mavis Dracula
The famous singer, actress and producer Selena Gomez became part of the voice actors of “Hotel Transylvania” with her role as Count Dracula’s daughter Mavis. She is loyal to Johnny and has a huge crush on him. Mavis had to face many difficulties to marry Johnny. Selena is a pop icon and her presence in the film boosted her acting career along with The Dead Don’t Die and A Rainy Day in New York.
David Spade as Griffin
Another Saturday Night Live comedian who hit it big in the 90s, David has been the king of this segment for years. “Tommy Boy”, “Grown Ups”, “Black Sheep”, “The Wrong Missy”, “The Do-Over” are some of the biggest hits of his career. Well, he became a voice actor in Hotel Transylvania with his role as the invisible man. Griffin was inspired by 189 science fiction novels by H.G. Wells.
Keegan-Michael Key as Murray
Mummy Murray is as funny as you can imagine. Keegan is now a well-known comedian and has recently starred in films such as Toy Story 4 and the live-action The Lion King. But being Murray makes this Hotel Transylvania voice actor an indispensable part of the franchise.
Brad Abrel as Frankenstein
He may look monstrous, but Frankenstein has the best heart of them all. Frankenstein is clumsy and Brad Abrell clearly brings out this character trait. Abrel’s previous vocal credits are in the Men in Black franchise and after being on the voice acting roster of Hotel Transylvania, he has achieved much more.
Steve Buscemi as Wayne
Buscemi has been known to perform for over 40 years. From “Monsters Inc.” franchise of ‘The Boss Baby’, it is quite iconic in the field. Also, the Hotel Transylvania voice actor for Wayne the werewolf had to be second to none. He is just famous and constantly struggles to manage his children.
