The 2022 US Open takes place this week, with many British tennis players taking part in this year’s tournament.

Emma Radukanu returns to the scene of her famous victory 12 months ago, while Andy Murray returns to the tournament that saw him win his first Grand Slam title after a grueling final against Novak Djokovic in 2012.

The pair will be joined in New York by the best British tennis has to offer, including world number 9 Cameron Norrie, fresh from his semi-final appearance at Wimbledon earlier this year.

But which other players make up Team GB at the competition?

Which British players are competing at the 2022 US Open?

Defending champion Radukanu enters the US Open after a year of struggling with fitness and form since lifting the Venus Rosewater Dish at Flushing Meadows last year.

The teenager has only managed to reach the second round in each of the Grand Slams since that heady night 12 months ago and has been plagued with blisters and rib problems in 2022.

Radukanu was spotted with a band on her right wrist and looked distressed during an awkward practice session ahead of the US Open.

Harriet Dart is the only other Briton to play at the US Open since then Heather Watson and Katie Boulter lost in the qualifiers.

Dart broke into the top 100 for the first time in her career earlier this year and had a strong performance in Indian Wells that should set her in good stead for her time in New York.

Murray had injury problems after limping off the court in his second-round loss to compatriot Norrie in Cincinnati.

He is unseeded for the tournament and will face a tough run if he wants to make it to the second week of the tournament.

Meanwhile, Norrie enters the US Open with a real chance of winning his first Grand Slam title after a glittering 18 months in which the British No. 1 won the prestigious tournament in Indian Wells last October.

World number 22 Dan Evans will be hoping to improve on his fourth round result from last year’s tournament and will be encouraged by a quarter-final appearance in Washington and a semi-final appearance in Montreal in recent weeks.

Jack Draper will be confident of a good run in the Big Apple after reaching his first Montreal Masters quarter-final.
