The increase is already the third this year. The company justified its decision with market conditions.

Energy company Helen will raise its prices from the beginning of October. The price of the basic electricity sold by the company will rise to 23.21 cents per kilowatt hour, which means an increase of about 58 percent compared to the prices of the current electricity contracts.

The prices of the temporary electricity sold by Helen will also be increased. For example, daytime electricity costs 12.70 cents per kilowatt hour. The company informed its customers of the price increase in a letter dated Monday.

In the letter, the reason for the decision to increase the price is the “substantial change in the conditions and the increase in the costs of electricity supply”. Helen says in her client letter that the decision will increase the electricity bill of a person living in an electrically heated detached house by up to €138 a month.

Helen has already raised its prices three times this year. Helen offers a 24-month fixed contract on its website at 33.15 cents per kilowatt hour.
