Daan Utsav, earlier called the Joy of Giving Week, gives every Indian an opportunity to give back to society. Daan Utsav is an Indian festival of giving that first started in 2009 and is held every year in the first week of October (October 2 – October 8).

It’s an opportunity that allows people from all walks of life—from shopkeepers to multinational executives, from young schoolchildren to aging grandparents—to give in their own way. The act of giving, however small or large, is an act of spreading happiness, love and compassion.
