Footage has surfaced of Karl Stefanovic singing and dancing at the event where he is accused of touching a waiter.
The Today program presenter was a presenter at the A Night For Melanoma event hosted by The Six Hour Project Charity in Brisbane on August 20.
In the clip, Stefanovic leads the crowd in an interpretation of Chic’s “Le Freak” as he moves to the rhythm of the melody.
He jokingly encouraged attendees to “get on the tables” during the show.
“Come on … feel free to get up,” he said.
Queensland police confirmed Thursday that they are investigating a report of alleged assault on a man during a fundraiser at the Mercedes-Benz showroom.
“Queensland police are investigating a report of alleged assault by a man at a company in Newstead during an event on Saturday August 20,” a spokesperson told the Courier Mail.
“As the investigation is ongoing, it would be inappropriate to comment further.”
Stefanovic attended the event with his wife Jasmine.
He returned to his role as presenter of the Today program on Friday after the saga came to light after spending the last week in London to follow the Queen’s funeral.
The evening brought together 350 people and raised more than $ 290,000 to charity.
Nine Network declined to comment on the allegations.
