Cuttack: In a big success Lalbag Thana Police in Cuttack on Odisha busted a firearms smuggling racket on Sunday and arrested three illegal firearms smugglers. Three pistols and 15 ammunition were seized from them.
Police on Sunday reportedly nabbed three illegal arms dealers as they were about to execute an illegal firearms deal. Three people were arrested on this occasion.
Firearms smugglers have reportedly been illegally transporting firearms as well as bullets from Munger area of Bihar and supplying to various districts of Odisha. They were selling the guns at Rs 40 thousand to Rs 50 thousand per gun, informed Cuttack DCP Pinak Mishra at a press meet today.
Although three accused were arrested, another illegal firearms dealer managed to escape from the scene.
The case is under further investigation as police investigate whether there are other individuals involved in this illegal firearms transaction.
