Elon Musk fired Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal and other executives. Musk has completed his $44bn (£38.1bn) takeover of Twitter, according to an investor in the firm.

Effective immediately, Twitter’s CEOs along with the CFO have left the company.

Parag Agrawal, who succeeded Jack Dorsey as CEO of Twitter, was fired by Elon Musk. Chief Financial Officer Ned Segal was also fired shortly after Elon Musk became the new owner of Twitter on Thursday. Musk fired Vijaya Gade, head of legal affairs and policy.

Musk accused them of misleading him and Twitter investors about the number of fake accounts on the social media platform.

According to sources, CEO Parag Agrawal and finance chief Ned Segal were at Twitter’s headquarters in San Francisco. During this time the deal was closed and they were escorted away.
