Star of EastEnders Max Bowden said his heart was full of love after sharing the news that he had become a father.
The actor, who plays Ben Mitchell in the BBC One soap, shared the happy news on Instagram.
“Reginald Buckle, welcome to the world son,” he shared.
“Born on September 19, 2022. The greatest feeling in the world and love like I’ve never felt. I will never get over the feeling of my son looking into my eyes for the first time.
Max also praised his ex-girlfriend Roisin Buckle “for being such a strong first-time mum”.
He continued: “My heart is full of love and gratitude and I can’t wait to love this little guy forever!”
Fellow EastEnders stars were quick to comment on the 27-year-old’s post with their warm messages.
Actor James By (Martin Fowler) and the current Strictly star simply commented with a heart emoji.
Actress Tazmin Outhwaite (Mel Owen) added: ‘Congratulations honey… you’re going to be an amazing FATHER. ❤️’
Lena Carter star Kelly Bright also wrote: “Beautiful boy. Handsome dad. ❤️❤️’
Max appeared to confirm his romance with fellow EastEnders star Shona McGarty (Whitney Dean) last month.
Max announced his split from long-term girlfriend Roisin in April this year.
The following month, she took to Instagram to announce that the former couple were expecting their first child together.
The pair have reportedly remained friends and want to co-parent their son.
In EastEnders, Lola Pearce (Danielle Harold) tries to pick up Ben and ex-lover Callum Highway (Tony Clay) to reconcile.
She enlists Ben and Jay (Jamie Borthwick) to help Vi (Gwen Taylor) move out of her house, and when Callum gets home, he’s surprised to find Ben there helping with the move.
It doesn’t take long for Ben and Callum to realize that Lola has set them up, but her scheme may just have worked.
