Cyclone threat in Odisha: Govt holds high-level meeting

Bhubaneswar: Following the forecast of possible cyclonic storm Sitrang, Odisha Government has convened a high level meeting here in Odisha today.

According to reports, the meeting was held under the leadership of Relief Commissioner Satyabrata Sahu. Besides, the meeting was attended by Powe Department, Water Management Department, officials from IMD Department and Orissa Disaster Rapid Response Force (ODRAF) Department.

The high-level meeting was informed that after the formation of the cyclone on October 22, precautionary measures would be taken. Further, only District Collectors have been instructed to be alert.

It should be noted here that the Diwali holidays have been canceled by the government keeping an eye on the possible cyclone situation in the state. Additional instructions have also been given not to leave the plant.

The high level meeting gave priority to Odisha Government’s ‘Zero Casualty Planning’.

It should be noted that Odisha government has always ensured zero casualties during any disaster which aims to protect the life of every person.
