Coronavirus live updates: India reports 2,786 new COVID-19 cases in 24 hours

New Delhi:

India reported 2,786 new coronavirus infections on Thursday, bringing the total number of COVID cases to 4.46.21.319, according to data updated by the Union Ministry of Health.

An increase of 217 cases was recorded in the number of active Covid cases over a 24-hour period.

While active cases soared to 26,509, the total death toll rose to 5,28,847 with 12 Covid-related deaths, including six recorded deaths from Kerala, according to ministry data.

The six new deaths reported include four from Maharashtra and one from Kerala and West Bengal.
