CHELSEA are close to loaning Callum Hudson-Odoi to Bayer Leverkusen, according to reports.
The winger, 21, has found playing time difficult at Stamford Bridge and is yet to feature this season.
Chelsea are also keen to bolster their wide options with the additions of Anthony Gordon and Rafael Leao, making Hudson-Odoi surplus to requirements.
The youngster is close to completing a season-long loan at Bayer Leverkusen, with his representatives in advanced talks with the German club, according to reports Sky Sports News.
Newcastle are also interested in the England Under-21 international, but his £100,000 salary has proved a stumbling block.
Hudson-Odoi was the subject of a bid from Bayern Munich two years ago but now looks set to move to the Bundesliga after all – despite signing a new deal when Chelsea turned down the German champions.
He still has two years to run on that deal but is keen to play regular football and should be given that chance under Leverkusen boss Gerardo Seoane.
After a hectic summer of transfer spending, the Blues are looking to offload strikers.
Hakim Ziyech and Christian Pulisic have attracted interest from AC Milan and Manchester United respectively.
Both could still follow Hudson-Odoi from the club, with Chelsea expected to complete a deal for Gordon worth at least £50m.

Ziech could still move to AC Milan in exchange for Leao, with the Serie A champions reportedly keen to add the Blues player to their squad.
Meanwhile, Chelsea also raised funds through the sale of the outcast Emerson Palmieri.
The Italian spent last season on loan at Lyon and has now moved across London to West Ham in a £13m deal.
