CBDT extends deadline for filing returns till November 7

New Delhi: The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) on Wednesday extended the deadline for filing income tax returns for assessment year 2022-23 to November 7 for certain categories of taxes.

The earlier deadline was October 31, 2022.

The extension was given as additional time was given till October 7 to submit various audit reports in the case of these entities, said a circular issued by the CBDT.

The extension is applicable to those legal entities and individuals as well as partners of firms whose books of accounts are to be audited.

The official Twitter account of Income Tax India had this to say:

“CBDT extends deadline for filing income tax return for AY 2022-23 to 7 November 2022 for certain assessment categories as a result of extension of deadlines for filing various audit reports.”
