Casemiro’s ‘wonderful story’ over at Real

Casemiro described his nine-year stint at Real Madrid as “the most wonderful story” when he said goodbye to the club before his move to Manchester United.

The Red Devils confirmed on Friday that a deal had been agreed for the 30-year-old, who has played a crucial role in Madrid’s success in recent seasons, winning the Champions League five times.

Arriving from San Paolo in 2013, Casemiro has established himself as one of the best midfielders in world football and has formed a formidable trio alongside Toni Kroos and Luka Modric.

He helped the Spaniards double the Champions League and La Liga last season, and was named man of the match in the Super Cup win against Eintracht Frankfurt earlier this month, his last start with the Blancos.

In a post on his social networks, Casemiro wrote: “I lived the most wonderful story I have ever imagined.

“I hope to return one day to what will always be my home. Not in a thousand lifetimes will I be able to give back to Real Madrid everything you have given me. Forever … Hala Madrid! “

Casemiro Modric’s midfield mate posted on Instagram: “What a journey! We had a lot of fun and made history together. I will miss you my friend. “

The Brazilian international repeats the trip from Raphael Varane, who exchanged Santiago Bernabeu for Old Trafford last year.

“Many battles have been fought with my Case warrior! Welcome to Manchester, mate, ”Varane posted on Instagram.
