A jawan from the CAF (Chhattisgarh Armed Force) committed suicide by shooting himself in the head in Bijapur, Chhattisgarh, late Wednesday night. The reason for Jawan’s suicide remains to be determined. The Jawan came from Bhind in Madhya Pradesh and was assigned to the 15th Battalion here. After learning the information, the carabinieri and agents arrived on the spot. The body was sent for an autopsy.

CAF Jawan Sunil Kumar was reportedly in his barracks as usual on Wednesday evening. Around 11 pm shots were heard in the barracks. That said, the comrades rushed to the spot and saw Sunil’s blood-soaked body lying there. His service rifle was also nearby. Sunil shot himself in the head. Subsequently, the soldiers provided this information to the officers.
The officer said: the reason for the suicide is not yet known
The police also reached the camp and the body was transported to the district hospital the same night. His autopsy began there on Thursday morning. Officials say Jawan’s family members have been informed. No reason for Sunil’s suicide has yet been revealed. The police are investigating the case. The situation could be clarified after the arrival of Jawan’s family members. The body will be returned to them after the autopsy.
