Brixton bloodbath as two men killed in drive-by shooting: Cops launch hunt for ‘gunmen’

Two men were killed in a drive-by shooting as police officers launched a manhunt after “at least 12 shots” were fired between “a couple on a moped and people in a car” in Lambeth, south London, on Sunday night.

Metropolitan Police were called at around 7.50pm to reports of a shooting on Railton Road.

Officers, including firearms officers, attended the scene along with the London Ambulance Service and the London Air Ambulance.

Two men were found injured at the scene, but despite the efforts of emergency services, both were pronounced dead at the scene.

A car crashed at the crime scene after others heard 12 gunshots, a local resident said.

Sebastian Morrison told MyLondon: “I came across the scene when I went to the shop so I’m not a direct witness. I spoke to several locals who heard and saw some of this.

He added: “Shots were heard and a policewoman at the crime scene told me it was a shooting. 12 shots were heard by local residents, a shootout between a couple on a moped and people in a car. The car crashed on the spot.

The nature of the injuries to the two deceased men has not been confirmed at this time.

Their next of kin have not yet been informed and police are awaiting official identification, with autopsies to be carried out in due course.
