Azerbaijan may cancel the exemption from state duty for mandatory labeling of tobacco products

BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 23. Released from
state duty for mandatory labeling of tobacco products can be
canceled in Azerbaijan, reports Trend.

This issue was reflected in the proposal to amend the law
“On the state obligation”, which was submitted for discussion at the meeting
from the Committee on Economic Policy of the Parliament of Azerbaijan,
Industry and Entrepreneurship and is recommended for consideration in
the plenary session of the parliament.

According to the amendment, manufacturers and importers of
tobacco products will be exempt from payment of state duty
provided for in Article 20-3.2.1 of this law (-0.07 for insurance
mandatory labeling of excise goods) for mandatory labeling of
these products within one month from the date of receipt
notification by the body (institution) established by
the relevant authority of the executive power in connection with the information
system.

The body (institution) designated by the relevant executive authority
authority, may extend the period specified in the first sentence of
this article five times, but not more than one month.
