Austin police are investigating a homicide after finding a young man shot in a crashed car

AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Austin Police Department is investigating the death of a juvenile as a homicide after finding him with gunshot wounds in a crashed vehicle.

APD responded to a shooting around 4:52 p.m. Oct. 23 in the 8000 block of Tisdale Drive. When the police arrived, they found that a car had crashed into a pole. Officers determined that the driver, a minor, had been shot.

He was taken to hospital where he died three days later.

Detectives learned that the person responsible for the shooting had fled to a nearby apartment. Officers were able to locate and arrest the suspect, another juvenile male.

That investigation is still ongoing.
