Arsenal manager Jonas Eideval has called on the FA to do more to help English clubs in the Women’s Champions League.

The Gunners take on Zurich at the Emirates Stadium tonight to back up their dominant 5-1 win over holders Lyon in France last week.

Chelsea have also made an impressive start in Europe, but Eideval believes these good results are “despite the system, not because of it”.

The Swede called on the FA and English clubs to work together to find a timetable that gives WSL clubs maximum recovery time to help them realize their full potential in the Champions League, which has only been won once by an English team – Arsenal. in 2007

“What I’m looking for is to have that discussion with the clubs and the authorities that run the league to see how we can give the clubs competing in Europe the best possible conditions to achieve good results, both short-term, and also a long-term plan for the league,” he said.

“But we don’t have those discussions, and I think that’s not enough.”
