Alleged Virginia sex predator is deported illegal immigrant wanted in NYC jogging attack
The accused naked sexual predator arrested for allegedly terrorizing women and girls along a popular hiking trail in Virginia for months is an illegal immigrant who was also wanted in New York for assaulting a jogger who is the wife of a law enforcement officer.
Juan Rodriguez Alfaro, now suspected in a series of at least 21 separate assaults and sexual assault incidents on women and girls along the Washington and Old Dominion Trail (W&OD) since July, is an illegal immigrant from Honduras who previously he has been deported three times, an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) spokesperson told FOX 5 DC.
Fairfax County police said Rodriguez Alfaro also faced out-of-state warrants for attempted rape and sexual assault in Suffolk County, New York, from nearly a year ago.
Suffolk County Sheriff Tom Corso, assigned to the U.S. Marshals Task Force, told FOX 5 that Rodriguez Alfaro was wearing only a tank top when he allegedly attacked a jogger in October 2021. The New York woman, wife of a member to law enforcement, was able to fight it off, Corso said.

Corso said investigators believe Rodriguez Alfaro lived in Suffolk County at the time but later fled. Fairfax County police said Rodriguez Alfaro is believed to have lived with an associate in Herndon, Va., since January of this year before being linked to the attacks that began in July.
In some incidents in Virginia, the suspect was described as pantsless, naked from the waist down. Herndon Police Chief Maggie DeBord said that in an Aug. 26 attack on a jogger, Rodriguez Alfaro “exposed himself and engaged in lewd sexual conduct and grabbed the victim’s genitalia” before fleeing.
The 42-year-old is being held in Fairfax County without bond. ICE filed a detainer warrant in Fairfax County to be alerted in the event that Rodriguez Alfaro may be released from their custody.
