Nayagarh: In a tragic accident, one person was killed and over 10 passengers sustained injuries as the passenger bus carrying them overturned in the middle of the road in Daspala area of Nayagarh district on Wednesday. The accident took place while the Kaleswar passenger bus was traveling to Nayagarh from Bhanjanagar in Ganjam district. The vehicle turned turtle after the driver lost balance on the wheels near Gudibida locality.
According to reports, slippery roads may have been the cause of the accident as there was heavy rain in Nayagarh district.
The deceased has been identified as Kalyani Panda, manager of Odisha Gramya Bank (OGB), Daspalla branch. People who sustained injuries were admitted to the Community Health Center (CHC) in Daspala.
The bus driver is also reported to be in critical condition.
The local police along with fire brigade team arrived at the spot and started the rescue operation.
