A man robbed a Toyota Fortuner at gunpoint

New Delhi: Three bike-riding men robbed a Toyota SUV at gunpoint on National Highway-8 near Delhi Cantonment, police said on Sunday.

The entire incident, which took place on Friday, was captured by CCTV cameras installed nearby. The footage shows the armed assailants publicly robbing his Fortuner car brandishing a gun and running away while bystanders do nothing.

In the video, three men are seen riding a bicycle, and when the jeep stops on the road, one of the three approaches the driver’s side. As the driver gets out, the man wearing a red top pulls a gun from his pocket and threatens him.

Another accused also joins in and brandishes a gun. The third accused then joins them and the trio flees the spot in the jeep, leaving the bike behind.

According to a senior police official, early on October 29, Delhi Cantonment Police Station received a tip-off regarding a car hijacking from NH-8.

“The complainant, Rahul, a 35-year-old resident of Badam village near Meerut in Uttar Pradesh, told the police that three unknown persons came on a bike and robbed his Toyota Fortuner after brandishing firearms,” ​​the official said, adding , that case in the relevant sections of the Indian Enrolled is NK.

“Police teams have photographs of the victims. A manhunt has been launched to nab the absconding accused. Police teams are also scanning CCTV cameras in the area to trace the vehicle and its route,” the official said.
