New Delhi: As many as 9 people were arrested on Monday in the Morbi Bridge collapse case in Gujarat, Rajkot District IG Ashok Yadav informed. Among those arrested are managers of the company “Oreva” and ticket agents.
“We have arrested 9 people after lodging an FIR under various sections of the IPC. Among those arrested are Oreva company managers and ticket sellers: Ashok Yadav, IG, Rajkot range,” ANI tweeted.
The nine people arrested reportedly include two Oreva company managers, two ticket clerks, two contractors and three security guards for negligence.
When we get evidence, the police will arrest the accused. We have also formed a special investigation team related to the incident, Rajkot district IG further said.
Earlier, the police said that there was an unfortunate incident in Morbi. FIR lodged under various sections of IPC against all the accused to take strict action. Police and local residents mobilized and helped in the rescue operation.
It should be noted that according to the latest report, the death toll in the said incident has reached 141 so far.
