8 killed, several injured in bus-truck collision in Lakhmipur Kheri

Lakhimpur Kheri (Uttar Pradesh): At least eight people were killed and several injured when a bus collided head-on with a DCM vehicle near Sharda Bridge on Pilibhit Basti Highway in Lakhimpur Kheri district on Wednesday morning.

The bus was on its way to Lucknow from Dharuhera when the incident took place at Isanagar police station near Era Bridge.

The injured were admitted to a district hospital and the condition of some of them was said to be critical, who were later referred to Lucknow.

The police spokesperson said that senior officials have reached the spot and the bodies have been sent for post-mortem.

After receiving the information, ADM and Circle Officer (CO) City reached the district hospital.
Condoling the incident, state Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed senior officials to reach the spot and provide proper treatment to the injured.

Chief Minister Shri Yogi Adityanath condoled the loss of lives due to a road accident in Lakhimpur Kheri district. Maharaj Ji has ordered the senior officers to immediately go to the spot and carry out relief and rescue operations and make necessary arrangements for the treatment of the injured.

Expressing his condolences to the bereaved family members, Yogi wished speedy recovery to the injured.
