2023 Genesis Electrified GV70 price and specs

Genesis has evaluated the latest of its trio of electric vehicles which will arrive in local showrooms in September.

The electrified GV70 fits as the flagship of the GV70 range, offered in a fully loaded specification called Performance AWD for $ 127,800 before cost on the road.

It shares its twin-engine 360 ​​kW / 700 Nm powertrain with the AWD Performance variant of the GV60, another member of the brand’s new electric trio that also includes the electrified G80. Only the GV60 uses an architecture dedicated to electric vehicles.

The electrified GV70 sits above the GV60 Performance AWD ($ 110,700 before road costs) and fights the base Audi e-tron 50 Quattro ($ 138,323 first on the road), the base Mercedes-Benz EQC 400 (122 $ 724 list) and the rear- BMW iX3 all-wheel drive (listing $ 114,900).

The most expensive combustion GV70, the 3.5T Sport, currently costs $ 89,067 before road driving when equipped with the Luxury package.

Although it is specified as the GV70 models with the luxury package, there are some key differences.

It stands out on the outside with 20-inch alloy wheels and unique front and rear bumpers, plus a unique grille that hides the charging port.

There is no limited slip differential like the GV70 3.5T, but the electrified GV70 retains the Preview electronically controlled suspension which uses a front-facing camera to scan the road and adjust the suspension accordingly.

You can power small devices from the battery with 3.6kW charging power outdoors and inside the vehicle (V2L), while there is also a one-pedal drive mode and regenerative braking that also uses navigation in real time and traffic data.

Other differences from the combustion GV70 include active noise control to dampen road noise, sensor-based rear occupant warning and a heat pump system for air conditioning.

The interior also features unique backlit door trim graphics and unique interior trim, while the three-spoke sports steering wheel features a Boost button.

Genesis claims that the space in the back seat is comparable to that of the combustion-powered GV70, even with the batteries under the floor.

As with other Genesis electric vehicles, the purchase price includes the choice of a five-year Chargefox subscription or home charger (including installation).

Maintenance and warranty

The Genesis Electrified GV70 is backed by a five-year unlimited mileage warranty, with an eight-year warranty on the high voltage battery.

Genesis offers five years of free maintenance and five years of Genesis To You and auto pickup and return service. This means that if you live within 70km of the Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane CBDs, a Genesis employee will pick up your vehicle for maintenance and drop you off with a Genesis courtesy car.

The brand also includes 10 years of 24/7 roadside assistance.
