18-wheeler crash near Manor leaves 1 dead, 1 injured

AUSTIN (KXAN) — One person is dead after a three-car crash on US 290 involving an 18-wheeler, according to Austin-Travis County EMS.

It happened just before midnight Saturday near FM 1100 and US 290 eastbound. Upon arrival, ATCEMS found one person trapped and extrication underway.

One patient was pronounced dead at the scene, ATCEMS said. STAR Flight took a second elderly patient to Dell Seton with potentially serious injuries.

The road was temporarily closed for an investigation but has since reopened.
