1 in custody after SWAT call in southeast Austin

AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Austin Police Department said one person was taken into custody Wednesday after a SWAT sweep of southeast Austin lasted more than 12 hours.

APD said the SWAT team responded to a fight at a home in the 3100 block of Collins Creek Dr. It is one block west of South Pleasant Valley Road and two blocks south of East Oltorf Street.

Police were initially called to the residence at 11:40 p.m. Tuesday.

APD said officers called in a SWAT team after a man with a gun refused to come outside.

The standoff was eventually resolved at 1 p.m., with one person in custody.
