1.75 Crores worth of crypto currency has been discovered

On the allegation of possession of assets disproportionate to known sources of income, simultaneous searches were initiated at the properties of Nihar Ranjan Das, Additional Chief Engineer, Planning, Monitoring, Design and Investigation, RWS&S Circle, Bhubaneswar today at 6 locations in Districts Khurda, Sambalpur and Bargarh.

During house searches, the following movable and immovable assets in the name of Nihar Ranjan Das have been found so far;

1) Investments in crypto currency (virtual digital assets) over 1.75 Crores discovered so far and the figure is likely to go up as the documents are still being verified by the financial wing of Odisha Vigilance with the help of Crypto Experts.

2) One 3 BHK Flat No-201 at Sri Ram Estate, Kharavela Nagar, Unit-III, Bhubaneswar worth Rs.32.5 Lakhs.

3) Three Storey Building at Modipoara, Sambalpur.

The technical wing of Vigilance is taking detailed measurements of the above flat/building and the estimate may be increased further.

4) 6 plots in prime area of ​​Sambalpur city. The registered sale deed (RSD) value reaches over Rs 1.27 crore. However, the actual value is likely to be much higher. An undervaluation of the plots at registration is suspected. A thorough investigation has been launched on this occasion.

5) Bank and insurance deposits worth about Rs.64.42 Lakhs.
